my butt hurts real bad

I’ve been in a bad mood lately. I’m not exactly sure why. Wether its work or family or just life in general, I don’t know. So, I apologize to those I have been bitchy to.

Last night was no exception for my bitchiness. I took the new bike out last night for a ride with Shanghai and H. All started out well, but half way through I realized my bike seat (which I put on myself) was coming undone. This made riding very difficult. With the seat I bought, you can position the seat at whichever angle you want it at. There are, of course, two extremes - either up your crotch or positioned so far forward you feel as though you are going to slip off. I, probably like a lot of people, like it in the middle. So, while riding, the seat started moving around and depending on how I sat on it, it went to each of the extremes. Of course, it was easier for the seat to keep slipping so it was up my crotch and I felt as though I would slide off the back of the seat. Trying to keep the seat in a comfortable spot took a lot of strength and energy. I wanted to keep going, but I was falling behind, which made me even more upset than the uncomfortableness of the seat. And of course, the more upset I got, the harder it was to keep going. I spent most of the ride by myself, which was alright, but I felt bad when I realized Shanghai and H were waiting for me periodically so I could catch up. I understand why they were waiting and I appreciate it now, but at the time it made me feel bad because I didn’t want to hold them up. So, that made me feel even worse and I got so tense at one point that I started hyperventilating and had to walk my bike for a while, which was a welcome change and allowed me to rest my sore butt, but I think Shanghai and H were waiting for me for a really long time. All in all, I say it wasn’t very successful, other than the fact that I made it back to H’s house without dying.

Its all my own fault. I was the one who didn’t tighten up the bolt tight enough on my seat and I should have just turned around when it started giving me problems. Oh well. Hopefully the next time will be better.

I also hope my mood lightens a bit. I’ve just been getting so anxious and tense lately that its getting to the point I start hyperventilating periodically and that worries me.

camping and warped tour nonsense

something funkydadunkadunk is going on with my calf muscle. Its pissing me off.

Well, since Shanghai and Fabio have already recapped this weekend ( I do realize you have no idea who I’m talking about and that I’m slow and can’t figure out how to link other pages to my page), so I guess its my turn. I’m going to do it in a different format though, with a list of highlights.

1. Left around 1:30 on Friday from neenah, as we needed to stop there to pick up a few things at the Walmart and stop by starbucks.

2. After a long, long drive, we arrived in Hudson, Wisconsin. We figured out quite quickly at that point that we had directions to Hudson, but not to the state park we were camping at. Luckily there are these big brown signs for state parks and alls we had to do was follow the signs.

3. Eventually we got to the park and checked in. When we got to the campsite, I noticed a discrepancy with the dates on our tag and the dates we were camping for. So, while Fabio and Shanghai set up the site, I went to go see what the eff was up.

4. After a bit of arguing and a lot of walking, I found out that we may not have a campsite for the second night we were staying there. It all depended on a few sites that had until 10:00 p.m. to renew their reservation. I was told to check back at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

5. We decided not to worry about the campsite situation because if need be, we would just visit a swanky hotel or something, so we decided to get drunk in the rain. Good thing our campsite was next to the bathrooms. Anyways..after hovering over the fire in the rain cooking chicken, eating standing up in the screen part of the girl tent and lots of giggling, some dancing with my pants pulled up to my boobs and cards, we went to bed around 4:00 a.m.. Oh, and we got in trouble from the "mountme" cops, because Fabio was chopping wood at 12:30 (quiet time is from 11:00 p.m. to 6 a.m.).

6. Screaming kids and stupid parents made Saturday an early morning. Shanghai and I got up around 8 and decided to go and check on the campsite situation. We tried waking Mr. Crankypants, but he didn’t want to come with. Luckily, none of the people who needed to check in did, so we got a primo site down the "road" a bit by the other bathrooms.

7. Once back at the campsite, we ate breakfast, which consisted of pop tarts, bananas and coffee. Mr. Crankypants finally woke up and we started packing up the site. It got to be around lunch time, so Mr. Crankypants started to build a fire to cook up some burgers. He failed. I took over and succeeded. Those hamburgers were damn good.

8. At the new site, we quicky realized that it was a lot nicer, a lot bigger and there were a lot less bugs. After setting up and resting for a while, we decided to go on a hike to see the Willow Lake Falls.

9. The falls were beautiful. 180 some odd steps and you get to see them from a higher view, which was also beautiful.

10. We saw a turtle and a bunny.

11. Back at the campsite, it was time for supper, so we made hotdogs and potato packets. It was really good. Shanghai did a great job on the potato packets. Did I mention I had to start another fire for Fabio? No? Well, I did. Seems Mr. Boy Scout isn’t so handy. I did manage to burn my finger though (It looks real icky today).

12. Shanghai’s friends, J and D came to the campsite for some campfire fun, but left pretty early. We then retreated to the tent for some cards and then early to bed, since we were beat from our day of moving the campsite and hiking.

13. Unfortunately for us (fortunately for the racoons), we forgot to clean up before going to bed. The coons got all the rest of the graham crackers, chocolate and a couple marshmallows.

14. After getting up and eating breakfast, muffins and bananas, we started packing up the site, again. After getting that completed, it was time for the best shower ever. We hadn’t showered all weekend and smelled like 5 different kids of ass.

15. 11:30ish we were on our way to eat at the Country Kitchen. It was very yummy and I found out I’m stupid. The booth had one of those IQ games in it. It judges you on how many pegs are left in the stupid triangle. Stupid IQ game.

16. After stopping at Caribou Coffee, it was time to start heading into Minneapolis for Warped Tour (the whole reason for above-mentioned camping trip). The drive was pretty uneventful and we survived the bazillion lanes of traffic despite my nervousness about the lanes.

17. After walking around the Metrodome for forever, we finally found the entrance and went in and found lots of punks, lots of emo people and lots of teenage girls looking like sluts and looking way out of place.

18. The music was awesome. I got to see Less Than Jake again, which I first saw like 10 years ago. We got to see lots of good bands, but I was pretty bummed that NOFX was playing too late for us to get to see them...damn 5 hour drive. Shanghai and I didn’t even end up going to work on Monday, so staying wouldn’t have even been an issue. Against me, saves the day, helmet, Joan Jett...and a few others I can’t think of at the moment we did get to see, however.

19. We left Warped Tour around 6:30, stopped at Taco Hell and started out 5 hour trek home. It was the worst time ever. I was super tired. Shanghai fell asleep and Fabio was super annoying at that point. The only plus was punk music that vetoed Fabio’s stupid German music.

20. Home at last. Sleep didn’t come quickly.

yeah, so there is my story. you can probably tell when I got bored of typing this.

I bought a bike last night. I’m super excited about it. I think I will go biking tonight.

my hand lotion smells like jell-O, apparently

guess what?!? Today is random thought day! I know some of you are saying, "oh no, LJ, not another random thought blog," but don't worry, it won't be that bad. :)

A co-worker of mine says that every time I put on my hand lotion, it makes her hungry for Jell-O. weird.

Ever taken one up the bum? [awkward silence] umm..... anyway, what’s up?

I’m bored today.

A co-worker of mine just got done telling me the following story, "Last night was my daughter’s last night of drivers ed. So, I took her on a vacation to Little Chute on the way home. She drove. She was able to go the 45 mph and stay in the lines and then merge when her lane ended and she went over the bridge......." My thoughts: "wow, I really didn’t need to know that. you’ve just wasted 5 minutes of my life. thanks." There was more to her story, but that’s all I heard....I tend not to listen when she talks. I can usually get by with just nodding my head every once in a while until she shuts up.

I’ve decided I am too nice. I view it as one of my faults. I’m trying though...to be meaner. I actually started this new thing last night...its called - ignoring people. Yeah, its this new concept that you don’t have to be available to everyone all the time. You can actually ignore phone calls and change plans.. weird, huh? Although, I think I lost sleep because of it. :(

My feet hurt. I need to find a boyfriend that wants nothing more than to massage my feet. Actually, he doesn’t even have to be a boyfriend... Although, I think feet are gross, so I don’t even know if I could let someone massage my feet. I had a roommate once who had a foot fetish. I think he got off just from tickling my feet once. Maybe I just need to find one of those types.

Is it wrong that I think everyone who comes into the apartment office I work at is on something. I seriously think they are all on crack.

Will you makeout with me? All I really want to do right now for some reason is makeout with someone. weird.

I need to get my eyebrows waxed again. Don’t worry my avid readers...I will go somewhere other than Walmart. We don’t want another short eyebrow fiasco.

That is all.

if today had a smell, it would be ass...

Been a pretty boring and annoying day. My sister finally gave me the $ she told me she was pitching in to help me get my camera fixed (my niece dropped it and broke it). The bill came to $130.80. My sister pitched in $50.00. Anyways, I’m not really pissed about how much she gave me, because any little bit will help, but I’m pissed that when she handed me the money she said, “Well, now you’ve learned a lesson.” What?!? Am I 5 or something? I think I’m old enough not to get the “now you learned your lesson” crap speech. Fuck that.

Well, we’ve started a new contract. Not sure if you knew about the first one, but the second one isn’t much different. Walking, sit ups, water, not smoking and limiting alcoholic drinks to 2 a week are among the highlights. I think it will go well. I don’t have any apprehensions about being able to stick to it. The duration is only 4 weeks. Not hard. We have a 3 mile route that we walk and have to walk at least 4 times a week. I love that walk. We run some of it and I guess that’s the only part I hate. Although, I think its good to run, so I want to keep doing it. Actually, I hope to be running the entire thing by this time next year...if not before. It shouldn’t be that hard, should it?
The only thing that is annoying me right now is worrying about BK and H. They don’t seem motivated enough for the contact. Shanghai and I do awesome at it. We invited BK and H to join this time around, but I’m regretting that decision. I think we are going to try and keep avoiding them and hope they start to forget about it. It wouldn’t be such a big deal, but H wants to modify the contract. That isn’t going to work for me. The contract is a list of goals that I want for myself. If she wants to modify the goals, then she can come up with her own damn contract. She makes me dread going on walks.

There is a rumor that Shanghai’s parents are giving one of their cats to me. I’m real excited for it. I just hope JoJo gets along with the new cat. I think it will be fine though. I get really worried about him because I haven’t been home a lot to keep him company. I think with another cat around, he will be happier. If Shanghai’s parents don’t end up giving me the cat, I think I will get one anyway. Sounds like a good idea to me.
